 The Nun 2 Release Date

Taissa Farmiga has joined the cast of The Nun 2 horror movie of The Conjuring cinematic universe. The actress will reprise her role as sister Airen, who fought the demon Valak in the first part.

According to Collider, The Nun sequel is set to begin filming in October. The horror film will be directed by Michael Chavez, who directed the previous films of the universe "The Conjuring 3: By the Will of the Devil" and "The Curse of the Weeper." The film will also star in the brand new Storm Reid franchise from the Euphoria series. And Bonnie Aarons will return as the demon Valak, who takes the form of a nun.

The Curse of the Nun is set in Romania in 1952. Sister Irene and Father Anthony Burke (Demian Bichir) take on the investigation into the death of the nuns of St. Carte Abbey. Ultimately, Airen and Anthony are forced to fight a real demon named Valak. Heroes, it would seem, expel evil spirits. However, the film's ending and the events of The Conjuring 2 set in the 1970s hinted that Valak's story was not yet complete.

The film "The Nun 2" will show the sinister events that happened in the life of Irene in 1956. This time the heroine will go to France. There she will try to find out who killed one priest. As it turns out, the old enemy of the girl, the demon Valak, is involved in this case.

The Nun received mixed reviews from viewers and critics. However, the film grossed over $365 million on a budget of $22 million, the biggest box office in franchise history. No wonder Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema took on a sequel.

The world premiere of The Nun 2 is scheduled for September 8, 2023.
