In the sequel, John Constantine may cross paths with Lucifer again.
Warner Bros. will shoot a sequel to the cult film "Konstantin: Lord of Darkness" in 2005. Keanu Reeves will return to the role of exorcist and medium John Constantine.
According to Deadline, Constantine 2 is in the early stages of development. The film will be directed by the director of the first part, Francis Lawrence (“I Am Legend”). The script is being written by Akiva Goldsman (A Beautiful Mind). Producers will include Goldsman and JJ Abrams (Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker) of Bad Robot Productions.
"Konstantin: Lord of Darkness" received mixed reviews from critics - but the audience as a whole warmly received the infernal comic book movie. And the film performed well at the box office. Constantine: The Dark Lord grossed over $230 million on a budget of $100 million.
Fans have been waiting for a sequel to Constantine: The Dark Lord for a long time. And there were rumors on the Web that there would be a sequel. Moreover, the star of the first part, Peter Stormare - who played Lucifer - announced in November 2020 that work on the sequel had already begun. And Keanu Reeves himself admitted in December 2021 that he wants to play Constantine again. And now Warner Bros. finally approved the film.
The plot of "Constantine 2" has not yet been reported. In the sequel, Constantine will again find himself at the epicenter of the conflict between angels and demons. And Constantine will obviously cross paths with Lucifer again since Peter Stormare is in business.
Recall that HBO Max is going to shoot a new series about Constantine. The action will unfold in an alternate reality, as John will be different there - performed by Sope Dirisu. The production of the show, by the way, is also handled by Bad Robot JJ Abrams. There are still upcoming projects about the Justice League Dark, which in DC comics includes Constantine.
