Audiolab Omnia Amplifier & CD Streaming System

Audiolab Omnia Amplifier & CD Streaming System

Description

CD player, streamer, amplifier AudioLab Omnia silver

Blurring the lines that usually separate hi-fi and lifestyle, Omnia builds on the company's achievements that have made Audiolab electronics the connoisseur's choice. The focus on design, material aesthetics and usability means the new component has all the functionality to make it elegant, comfortable and easy to use, in fact the centerpiece of a no-compromise home audio system.

The Audiolab Omnia retains the award-winning and instantly recognizable signature design. The unassuming yet striking brushed aluminum bent chassis is "typically audio lab" but designed to suit today's living conditions. The Omnia is attractive yet understated, offering the perfect balance for both living rooms and listening rooms.

In a world where music is more accessible than ever and sources are even more diverse, Omnia makes no distinction between them. No matter how you listen to your music, Omnia is sure to inspire you. To sum up, the Audiolab Omnia is a CD player, integrated amplifier, wireless streaming player, DAC, headphone amplifier and preamp all in one!

High quality CD drive

Extremely durable and reliable; The Omnia CD-ROM drive is based on the advanced 6000CDT digital buffer transport technology - read-ahead - to reduce playback glitches. The level of sophistication of this mechanism is such that Omnia is able to play scratched and damaged discs that are not readable by conventional drives.

Connection options for traditional sound sources

The RCA line inputs are connected to a high quality and extremely simple analog preamp circuit similar to that used in the Audiolab 6000 series. Using high quality components to keep the signal pure, the line input signals are routed to a precision analog volume control stage. A turntable can be connected to the Omnia via a high-quality, low-noise MM phono stage with precise RIAA equalization. All in all, the Omnia is an outstanding preamp in its own right.

Network audio playback

For network audio playback, the Audiolab Omnia is equipped with an Ethernet port for wired connectivity and the higher bandwidth requirements of high-resolution digital audio. For the most convenient wireless music experience, Omnia offers high quality, low latency Bluetooth aptX connectivity.

On Wi-Fi, the Omnia is powered by the app-driven DTS Play-Fi platform, providing high-quality wireless audio for the entire home, capable of streaming high-definition music (up to 24-bit/192kHz). This platform is supported by the most famous audio brands.

USB DAC section

The USB DAC section is based on ICs from Audiolab's multi-award winning partner ESS. The new reference ESS9038 Q2M SABER 32 DAC performs the conversion using HypersStream II 32-bit architecture, ESS technology and jitter suppression to deliver ultra-low noise and wide dynamic range.

No other company knows more about how to make the most of this technically superior yet complex DAC technology than Audiolab. The world-famous Audiolab M-DAC was one of the first home audio components to use ESS chips back in 2011, and the company has been honing its implementation ever since.

Audiolab Omnia also offers full MQA decoding. MQA is an award-winning British technology that delivers sound at the level of the original master recording. The MQA decoder inside the Omnia allows playback of MQA audio files and MQA streams received via the USB input (in full resolution of the original file) and passes the signal through the DAC and preamplifier. MQA files are now available through a TIDAL "HiFi" subscription (among other sources).

LCD display type IPS

The Audiolab Omnia uses a color LCD display (IPS type) that delivers higher color clarity and lower power consumption than TFT displays. With an attractive display, Omnia offers a simplified user interface and graphical integration with your music source and playback formats. It also uses a completely new protocol to display the VU indicator in real time, adding a touch of hi-fi sophistication to a very functional and beautiful interface.

ROON

In addition to this, Audiolab Omnia is also tested by Roon, thus opening the world of Roon to the owners. Roon's main goal is to provide a consistently excellent user experience. This goal is not limited to software, but extends all the way to audio hardware, regardless of manufacturer. As Roon's testing partner, Audiolab provided Roon with equipment to test using various operating systems and computers, and shared information about its design and capabilities. We have a direct relationship with Roon and in many cases Roon support has our products on hand so you can choose to use Audiolab equipment with Roon with confidence.

Roon transforms the experience of listening to music. Artist photos, credits, biographies, reviews, lyrics, tour dates and composers are automatically found and then linked to create a browseable and searchable digital magazine about your collection.
Roon finds links between your personal files and the millions of tracks available on TIDAL, so you can start with the music you know and then explore and discover new music from a world outside of your collection.

In addition to browsing music libraries, Roon is a multi-room, multi-user network audio platform built to the exacting standards of audiophiles. It offers features such as bit-perfect playback, DSD and PCM upsampling, multi-channel playback, and signal path display.

You will enjoy using headphones

The Omnia includes a separate headphone amplifier with current feedback. Its bandwidth and high slew rate deliver dynamic, detailed and engaging sound with all types of headphones – expanding the capabilities of this most versatile all-in-one system ever!

Zero connection complexity

Connecting speakers is a breeze in terms of configuration. The discrete power amplifier stage operates in class AB and delivers 50 watts per channel into 8 ohms at a maximum current of up to 9 amps for demanding loads. The output stages use a CFB (Complementary Feedback) topology that provides excellent linearity and thermal stability because the no-load current is maintained regardless of the temperature of the output transistors. A powerful 200VA toroidal power transformer, followed by 4x15,000uF capacitors (60,000uF total), helps the amplifier maintain solid control over the music while providing excellent dynamic range. Omnia is more than just a leader in its class, it is also a leader in sound quality.
