Bang & Olufsen launches Beovision Harmony 88 88-inch OLED TV

The new Bang & Olufsen Beovision Harmony 88 is the Danish brand's first 8K TV. The company announced it last summer, but it appeared only now, becoming the "most-most" in many respects.

In terms of resolution, all previous models had a maximum of 4K, even those built on LCD matrices. In terms of diagonal size and price, this is now not only the most expensive TV of the brand in the line, but also the most expensive OLED in general. In Europe, it will be sold from June at a price of 46,500 euros (approximately 3.65 million rubles), that is, almost three times more expensive than a similar 77-inch model .

Like the rest of the Beovision Harmony series, the novelty is notable for its dynamic design: when turned on, the acoustics that partially cover the screen open up and diverge to the sides like butterfly wings, and the screen itself rises slightly while launching a beautiful black and white screensaver that demonstrates high image contrast.

Traditionally for Bang & Olufsen, acoustics are covered with fabric or wooden slats. The company has not yet published its characteristics, but the fact that it is at least larger than that of 77 and 65-inch models is obvious.

Bang & Olufsen does not even try to hide the origin of the video part of the TV and directly says that it is based on the LG OLED88ZX model with a panel, all electronics, including the latest Alpha 9-3 video processor, and the WebOS 5.0 operating system, which initially has the ability to decode new AV1 video codec used for 8K videos on YouTube.
